740The Knee Program is classic for illustrating the power of Muscle Energy Technique when used to reduce the unnatural forces that can put excessive strain on a joint. The function of the knees are highly impacted by forces from above, and at least three of the compensatory patterns that can be exhibited by the pelvic region of the body can either cause the force of the weight to come down through the knee at the wrong place, or can cause too much weight to be distributed to one leg over the other. Students will learn to identify knee pain precipitated by pelvic causative factors or more local determinants.
